Coursepacks
The University Store Publications are the custom coursepacks that the University Store produces on request. Production includes the securing of necessary copyright permissions, which protect you and the university from litigation over copyright infringement.
Existing Coursepack:
Include an existing coursepack on the list of books that your class assigns. Enter CORRAL in the author field. If a coursepack requires revision, please note REVISED COURSEPACK in the comments field. We will contact you to discuss the revisions.
New Coursepack:
Include a new coursepack on the list of books that your class assigns. Enter CORRAL in the author field. Please note NEW COURSEPACK in the comments field.
To produce your coursepack, we need an “original”. Bring to the courseware office your camera-ready coursepack as single-sided sheets of white paper (preferably 8.5” by 11”) or e-mail your coursepack as a PDF file to courseware@calpoly.edu.
Copyright Permission:
Permission is required for each use of content from sources such as books, cartoons, Internet, journals, magazines, and newspapers. Please do not assume that fair use exempts a coursepack from copyright permissions.
For each copyright permission, we need:
- Author or Editor
- Title
- Publisher
- Pages Numbers of Copied Content
- ISBN or ISSN
- Estimated Enrollment
Or if appropriate:
- Title of Article
- Date or Volume
- Website of Content Download
- Estimated Enrollment
Please keep in mind that the permission process can take up to six weeks. You may give us the copyright information ahead of the coursepack “original”. We will inform you of any permissions which are unusually costly or delayed.
